Description: Provides Layer 2 management objects for the D-Link DES-1228ME v2 managed Ethernet switch.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DES1228MEv2-28-L2MGMT-MIB?
DES1228MEv2-28-L2MGMT-MIB is a D-Link proprietary MIB defining Layer 2 network management information for the DES-1228ME v2 28-port managed switch. Its objects cover front-panel LED status, port counts, spanning-tree state, IGMP snooping, SNMP trap state, statistics-counter reset, FDB-table VLAN scoping, MAC-notification state/history-size/interval, Telnet/Web state and TCP port, management VLAN ID, LLDP state and forwarding, IP auto-configuration, and CFM (Connectivity Fault Management) state and per-port configuration. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm core Layer 2 management settings — spanning tree, IGMP snooping, management VLAN — are configured as intended on the switch. It is deployed on the D-Link DES-1228ME v2 28-port managed switch. Engineers can download the DES1228MEv2-28-L2MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DES1228MEv2-28-L2MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- D-Link DES-1228ME v2 28-port managed switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks swL2DevCtrlStpState and swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping to confirm spanning-tree and multicast-snooping are both enabled as expected on a D-Link DES-1228ME v2 28-port switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- spanning-tree, IGMP snooping, and management VLAN configuration

When user configures a port to VLAN X's untagged membership, this port's PVID will be updated with VLAN X. In the form of VLAN list command, PVID is updated with last item of VLAN list. When user removes a port from the untagged membership of the PVID's VLAN, the port's PVID will be assigned with 'default VLAN'. |
