Description: D-Link 3100 CLI MIB providing objects to manage command-line interface sessions, access levels, and configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINK-3100-CLI-MIB?

DLINK-3100-CLI-MIB is a small vendor-specific MIB from D-Link (part of the RapidCity-derived ROS software for the 3100 platform, under the "rlCli" OID branch) that manages command-line interface session behavior on the device. It exposes just a handful of scalars: rlCliMibVersion (the MIB's own version), rlCliPassword (the CLI access password), rlCliTimer (the CLI idle-session timeout, 5-3600 seconds), and rlCliFileEnable/rlCliFileEnableAfterReset (whether CLI scripting via file is enabled, currently and after the next reset). It is purely a configuration/administrative-access MIB with no counters or tables, so monitoring it is limited to confirming CLI access-control settings such as session timeout and file-based CLI enablement rather than tracking device health. It depends on DLINK-3100-MIB for its enterprise OID root and is deployed on D-Link/D-Link Semiconductor 3100-series switches (ROS firmware). Administrators can download the DLINK-3100-CLI-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser and verify CLI security settings on these switches.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINK-3100-CLI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link 3100-series switches (RapidCity/ROS firmware)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls rlCliTimer and rlCliFileEnable to confirm the CLI idle-session timeout and file-based CLI access match the site's security policy; an unexpectedly long rlCliTimer value combined with rlCliFileEnable set to true would indicate a lax CLI access configuration exposing the device to prolonged unauthenticated sessions.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CLI idle-session timeout
  • CLI password configuration presence
  • CLI file-based scripting enable/disable state
  • MIB version identifier
