What Is DASAN-TC?

DASAN-TC is a vendor-specific Dasan Co., Ltd. MIB that defines textual conventions (TCs) — reusable, standardized data types — used consistently across the full family of Dasan enterprise MIB modules. It does not itself expose runtime operational data but rather establishes common definitions (such as status enumerations, identifier formats, or measurement units) that other Dasan MIBs reference for consistency. Its indirect relevance to monitoring is that it underlies how hardware/software status values (e.g., enumerated states for device health, port status, or alarm severity) are represented across Dasan's broader MIB suite, ensuring uniform interpretation by management systems. Administrators treat DASAN-TC as a reference for the enumerated types used across the vendor's device MIBs rather than as a source of data to poll directly. By design, essentially all other Dasan product-specific MIB modules depend on this TC module for shared type definitions. It is deployed wherever Dasan networking equipment (such as DSL/PON access or Ethernet switching products) is managed via SNMP, functioning as foundational plumbing rather than a monitored endpoint itself.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DASAN-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dasan Co., Ltd. networking equipment (DSL/PON/Ethernet access products)

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module, consistent with its role purely as a textual-conventions definition file rather than a data-object MIB. In practice, administrators never poll DASAN-TC directly; instead, they encounter its defined types indirectly as the syntax of objects in other Dasan device MIBs, such as an enumerated status type used in a hardware or alarm table. As a conformance/type-definition module, it has no monitoring scenario of its own.
