What Is MITEL-ERN?
MITEL-ERN is a Mitel enterprise MIB module that establishes the root OID hierarchy for ER (Emergency Response) Notifications sent to the MITEL ER Adviser system, part of Mitel's unified communications and telephony product line. Rather than exposing a rich set of data tables itself, it primarily defines the enterprise registration point under which notification-related objects and traps are organized for Mitel's emergency-response adviser components. Its practical monitoring value lies in the fault/event domain: it underpins delivery of notification traps that alert administrators to emergency-call events or ER Adviser status, functioning as an early-warning channel rather than a source of hardware health telemetry like CPU or temperature. Because it is a root/registration module, it depends on and is extended by other Mitel-specific MIBs that define the actual notification object bodies. It is deployed in enterprise telephony environments running Mitel PBX/unified communications platforms with emergency call routing and notification features enabled, and administrators can download the MITEL-ERN MIB file directly to load into their trap-management platform.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MITEL-ERN. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Mitel PBX / unified communications system
- Mitel ER Adviser emergency notification appliance
Monitoring Examples
Since this module contains no populated object or table definitions, it functions purely as an OID anchor point (a registration stub) referenced by other Mitel notification MIBs. An administrator would not poll object instances directly under MITEL-ERN itself, but would see it referenced as the parent arc in trap OIDs generated when an ER Adviser event fires, such as an emergency call placed from an unregistered location. Network management stations use this arc to recognize and route Mitel ER-related traps for alerting.
What Can Be Monitored
- ER Adviser notification events
- emergency call notification delivery
- Mitel enterprise OID registration status
