Description: Defines SNMP objects for monitoring and controlling DHCP relay agent functions on DASAN Networks broadband equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DASAN-DHCP-R-MIB?
DASAN-DHCP-R-MIB is a DASAN Networks module for configuring and monitoring the DHCP relay/server entities on DASAN broadband access equipment. It exposes DHCP scope configuration objects such as default/max lease time, subnet mask, broadcast address, domain name, a DNS server table, and per-subnet configuration entries. While primarily configuration-focused, it supports monitoring the software-level correctness of DHCP service delivery, letting an operator confirm lease timers, DNS server assignments, and subnet configurations are correctly applied so that client address assignment functions as intended. It is a DASAN-specific extension operating alongside the standard IETF DHCP-related conventions rather than replacing them. It is deployed on DASAN broadband access/aggregation devices, such as DSLAMs or access switches, in service provider networks providing DHCP relay services to subscribers. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the DASAN-DHCP-R-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DASAN-DHCP-R-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- DASAN Networks broadband access device (e.g. DSLAM/access switch)
Monitoring Examples
An operator would check dsDefaultLeaseTime and dsMaxLeaseTime to confirm subscriber lease durations match policy, and verify dsSubnetMask/dsBroadcastAddress/dsDomainName for a given subnet. Walking dsDomainNameServerTable, via dsDomainNameServerIpIdx, confirms the correct DNS servers are being handed out to clients. If subscribers are failing to obtain valid addresses, checking dsSubnetConfTable entries by dsSubnetConfName would reveal a missing or misconfigured subnet configuration.
What Can Be Monitored
- default and max DHCP lease time
- subnet mask and broadcast address
- domain name
- DNS server assignments
- per-subnet DHCP configuration
