What Is CYAN-PME-MIB?

CYAN-PME-MIB is a Cyan, Inc. (packet-optical transport vendor, later Ciena) proprietary MIB for the PME (Packet Multiplexer Element) card on Cyan Z-Series platforms, reporting hardware health and identification. Its PME table, keyed by shelf/PME ID, records active/alarm LED state, active-standby state, admin state, asset tag, auto-in-service soak time, base MAC address, current software build/release, current draw, description, exhaust/intake air temperature with alarm/warn high/low thresholds, expected temperature rise, and an identifier. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator watch a PME card's temperature and active/standby redundancy state on a Cyan (Ciena) platform. It is deployed on Cyan, Inc. (Ciena) Z-Series packet-optical platforms. Engineers can download the CYAN-PME-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CYAN-PME-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
