Description: Manages 10G client port configuration, alarms, and PM counters on Cyan optical transponders.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CYAN-TENGPORT-MIB?

CYAN-TENGPORT-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Cyan, Inc. that models 10 Gigabit client ports on Cyan optical transponder/packet-optical platforms, exposing per-port configuration, alarms, and PM-style counters for each 10G interface. It defines a single cyanTENGPortTable indexed by shelf/module/transceiver/port IDs, with objects covering administrative and operational state (cyanTENGPortAdminState, cyanTENGPortOperState, cyanTENGPortOperStateQual), termination-point connection state, loopback control, client signal type (cyanTENGPortSignalType), and optical power levels (cyanTENGPortRxPwr, cyanTENGPortTxPwr) alongside transmitter status and control. This gives an operator direct visibility into whether a 10G client port is in service, correctly signaling, and receiving/transmitting optical power within expected ranges, which is the primary indicator of a healthy fiber connection on a transponder shelf. It depends on the shared CYAN-TC-MIB textual conventions (CyanAdminStateTc, CyanOpStateTc, and related enumerations) and CYAN-MIB for the cyanEntityModules registration point. It is deployed on Cyan optical transponder platforms carrying 10G client services, and network engineers referencing the CYAN-TENGPORT-MIB MIB when building their SNMP polling templates can map every alarm and power object to a specific shelf/module/port instance.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CYAN-TENGPORT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cyan optical transponder / packet-optical platforms

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls cyanTENGPortTable for cyanTENGPortRxPwr and cyanTENGPortOperState on a given shelf/module/transceiver/port instance; an operational state that transitions away from in-service combined with a cyanTENGPortRxPwr reading well below the expected optical budget would indicate a degraded or disconnected 10G fiber on that transponder port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • port administrative and operational state
  • termination-point connection state
  • RX/TX optical power levels
  • client signal type / port mode
  • transmitter control and status
  • loopback control state
