What Is CXChassis2-MIB?

CXChassis2-MIB provides extended chassis management for second-generation CX (Aastra/Memotec) WAN access platforms, layering logical interface administration on top of the standard interface stack model. It exposes chassis-level configuration data mapping CPU index, interface type, and channel index to ifIndex, essentially inventory/topology data describing how logical interfaces are provisioned onto physical hardware. Monitoring use centers on hardware/interface status: cxChassLogIfAdmRowStatus shows whether a logical interface administration entry is active, letting an operator confirm a channel is correctly provisioned rather than left in a not-in-service state. It explicitly imports and depends on the standard IF-MIB (ifMIB, ifStackTable, ifStackHigherLayer/LowerLayer), tying its chassis-specific logical interfaces into the standard interface stacking model. Deployment context is multi-slot CX/Aastra WAN access chassis with multiple CPU and interface cards, and the CXChassis2-MIB download is normally obtained from Aastra/Memotec along with the chassis firmware to load into a MIB browser.

An admin can cross-reference cxChassLogIfAdmTable (keyed by cxChassLogIfAdmCpuIndex, cxChassLogIfAdmIfType, cxChassLogIfAdmChannelIndex) against the standard ifStackTable (ifStackHigherLayer, ifStackLowerLayer) to confirm a logical channel is correctly stacked above its physical interface. An unexpected cxChassLogIfAdmRowStatus value would indicate a misconfigured or down logical interface on a given CPU/slot.
