What is hostUUID?

This is a text string giving the unique ID of a host attached to the Fusion System. An administrator uses this to unambiguously identify a specific attached server, useful when multiple hosts connect to the same shared HSV storage array. For example, this UUID would let a management system reliably track a specific host's connection status even if that host is later renamed.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.136.1.3.3.2.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CPQHSV-MIB::hostUUID

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.136.1.3.3.2.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CPQHSV-MIB::hostUUID.1
