Category: Hardware and Environment, Vendor: Conel
Description: Manages digital and analog I/O port states and values on Conel industrial IoT routers.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CONEL-IO-MIB?
CONEL-IO-MIB is a vendor MIB from Conel, a manufacturer of industrial cellular and IoT routers, and models the general-purpose digital and analog input/output ports built into the router hardware. It exposes data organized around discrete I/O channels: binary input states and output values that reflect what is physically wired to the router's I/O terminals. In monitoring terms this MIB is used less for classic CPU/memory/software health and more for hardware I/O status, tracking whether a binary input is open or closed or what value an output channel currently holds, which indicates real-world conditions such as a door sensor, alarm contact, or relay state attached to the router. It depends only on the vendor's own enterprise MIB tree and standard SNMP SMI conventions, with no notable reliance on other standard MIBs. It is typically deployed in industrial, M2M, or remote-site automation contexts where a Conel router doubles as a small I/O controller for SCADA-like monitoring or remote alarm reporting. Engineers can download the CONEL-IO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CONEL-IO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Conel industrial cellular/IoT router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll ioBin0 and ioBin1 to read the current logical state of the router's binary inputs, and ioOut0/ioOut1 to check or set the state of its output relays. A change in ioBin0 from 0 to 1 could indicate a door or tamper switch has triggered, prompting the monitoring system to raise an alert. These are scalar objects under the conel/protocols/io branch rather than a multi-row table, reflecting the router's fixed, small number of physical I/O points.
What Can Be Monitored
- binary input state
- output relay state
- analog I/O value
- I/O channel status
