What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-MEMORY-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-MEMORY-MIB is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower chassis management information model, covering the MEMORY package that inventories and monitors physical memory (DIMM) hardware in compute blades. It exposes memory-array objects such as current and maximum memory capacity, error-correction capability (e.g. ECC type), the number of memory devices supported, and the CPU/location association for each memory array. This MIB is directly focused on hardware health monitoring: administrators use it to inventory installed memory capacity per blade and to monitor error-correction status as an indicator of memory reliability, which is a core part of hardware health for compute nodes. It shares the common DN/RN object model across the CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB family, associating memory arrays with specific blade and CPU locations. Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprMemoryArrayTable/cfprMemoryArrayEntry, keyed by cfprMemoryArrayInstanceId, comparing cfprMemoryArrayCurrCapacity to cfprMemoryArrayMaxCapacity to see how much memory is populated versus the array's maximum, and checking cfprMemoryArrayErrorCorrection to confirm ECC is active. cfprMemoryArrayCpuId and cfprMemoryArrayLocationDn identify which CPU socket and blade location a given memory array belongs to, useful when cfprMemoryArrayMaxDevices indicates unused DIMM slots during a capacity-upgrade audit. A blade reporting an unexpected error-correction mode change could signal a failing memory module.
