This read-create VariablePointer, applicable only to Y.1731 probes, identifies the source MEP that initiates the Y.1731 Loss Measurement Messages (LMMs) and Delay Measurement Messages (DMMs). It identifies which local CFM Maintenance End Point originates the Y.1731 loss and delay measurement frames for this probe. For example, pointing SrcMep at the MEP configured on a specific service's maintenance domain lets this probe measure that Carrier Ethernet service's performance using standard Y.1731 rather than IP-based probing.
