This write-only object lets an MIO network card tell the printer firmware which MIB-II ifIndex corresponds to a given logical channel. An admin benefits indirectly, since the value the card writes here is what later gets reported back through the read-only prtChannelIfIndex object when a management station wants to correlate a print channel with its network interface statistics. For example, if a management tool sees channel 1 correlated with ifIndex 2, that mapping originally came from the MIO card writing that ifIndex value into this object during initialization.
