Description: Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 9050 MFP printer SNMP MIB defining objects for high-volume multifunction device monitoring and management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is LJ9050mfp-MIB?

This is a Hewlett-Packard proprietary MIB module for the LaserJet 9050 series multifunction printer (MFP), a high-volume monochrome laser device combining print, copy, scan, and fax functions. It exposes objects covering the control panel, self-test diagnostics, localization settings, power/energy management, and low-level device and PML (Printer Management Language) management structures. The MIB is squarely aimed at monitoring hardware and firmware status: it reports whether power-on self-tests have run, whether the device is online or off-line, current sleep/energy-star power state, and control-panel display activity (via change-counters and CRC checks that reveal panel lockups or unexpected UI state). It builds on HP's private enterprise PML/device conventions rather than the standard IETF Printer MIB (RFC 3805), so tools that also support that standard MIB typically pair the two for fuller coverage. It is deployed in enterprise print environments where IT staff remotely track large shared MFPs for uptime, fault conditions, and power-saving compliance, and IT staff can download the LJ9050mfp-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser for fleet monitoring.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in LJ9050mfp-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP LaserJet 9050 MFP printer

Monitoring Examples

An admin could poll on-off-line and energy-star/sleep-mode to confirm a 9050mfp is reachable and correctly entering low-power states overnight, and use self-test / print-internal-page to remotely trigger a diagnostic page when print quality is questioned. control-panel-display-contents-crc and control-panel-display-contents-change-counter let a monitoring script detect an unresponsive or stuck front panel without physically visiting the device. perm-store-init-occurred flags whether NVRAM was reinitialized, useful for catching unexpected firmware resets across a fleet of these devices.

What Can Be Monitored

  • online/off-line state
  • sleep and energy-star power mode
  • self-test and internal test page status
  • control panel display activity/lockup
  • NVRAM/permanent storage initialization events
  • supported localization languages and countries
