Description: Manages local CLI (command-line interface) access and configuration on Cisco Small Business devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCOSB-rlLcli-MIB?
CISCOSB-rlLcli-MIB is a Cisco Small Business private MIB managing the device's local CLI (Local Command Line Interface) behavior, including session timeout, command history settings, and a per-command authorization-level table. It exposes global CLI configuration objects (idle timeout, history buffer enable/size) and a table mapping specific CLI commands/contexts to a required privilege level and action mode. Its monitoring value is configuration/security auditing—confirming which CLI commands require elevated privilege and verifying session timeout policy is enforced, which relates to software/administrative access control status rather than hardware health. It has no strong dependency on other standard MIBs, being a vendor-specific management-plane control module. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business switches/routers to enforce role-based command authorization on the local console/CLI. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-rlLcli-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-rlLcli-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Small Business switch/router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would check rlLCliTimeout and rlLCliHistoryEnable/rlLCliHistorySize to confirm session idle-timeout and command-history retention policy, then browse rlLcliCommandLevelTable/rlLcliCommandLevelEntry (via rlLcliCommandLevelCommandName and rlLcliCommandLevelContextName) to see the required rlLcliCommandLevelCommandLevel for a sensitive command. If a normally privileged command shows an unexpectedly low required level, it would indicate a security misconfiguration allowing lower-privilege users to execute it.
What Can Be Monitored
- CLI session idle timeout
- command history enable/size
- per-command required privilege level
- command action mode
- command-level entry status
