rlLldpAutoAdvManAddrOwnerIfId

Module: CISCOSB-LLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCOSB-LLDP-MIB::rlLldpAutoAdvManAddrOwnerIfId

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.110.1.1.4.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: The integer value is used to identify the interface number (port, trunk or vlan). The management address, automatically advertised from associated 'rlLldpAutoAdvLocPortNum'local port is assigned to mentioned 'rlLldpAutoAdvManAddrOwnerIfId' interface. In case of 0 the management address is automatically calculated without care to the ifIndex it was defined on.

What is rlLldpAutoAdvManAddrOwnerIfId?

This read-write Integer32 ties the automatically calculated LLDP management-address advertisement to a specific interface number, with a value of 0 meaning the address is calculated without regard to any particular ifIndex. It lets an admin control which interface's identity is associated with the management address a local port advertises. For example, setting this to the ifIndex of VLAN 10 ensures neighbors discover the switch's VLAN 10 management IP specifically via LLDP rather than an arbitrary interface's address.
