Category: SNMP Framework, Vendor: Cisco Devices

Description: Defines agent capability statements for Cisco WAN resource partition management on MGX platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module documenting which objects of the companion CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-MIB are implemented by the SNMP agent on Cisco MGX WAN switching platforms, which support resource partitioning (dividing switch resources such as bandwidth/ports among logical partitions for different service providers or tenants). It carries no runtime data objects itself, only a declaration of supported resource-partition management features for a given agent/software release. As a conformance statement it plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status, though it governs how the resource-partitioning data in the base MIB should be interpreted for a specific MGX release. It is entirely dependent on the CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-MIB it describes. It is used during SNMP agent conformance testing for Cisco MGX WAN switches deployed in carrier/service-provider WAN networks offering partitioned/multi-tenant resource allocation. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-WAN-RSRC-PART-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects of its own, so no monitoring scenario applies; it solely documents which WAN resource-partition management objects are supported by the SNMP agent on Cisco MGX platforms for a given release.
