Category: Cisco Devices, RADIUS and AAA, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for RADIUS authentication and accounting on Cisco network access devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-RADIUS-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-RADIUS-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that specifies which parts of CISCO-RADIUS-MIB, covering RADIUS authentication and accounting client behavior, are implemented by a particular Cisco network access device's SNMP agent. It belongs to Cisco's AAA (authentication, authorization, accounting) capability/conformance MIB set and does not itself provide runtime data. Because it is purely a capability declaration, it carries no monitoring value for hardware or software status such as uptime, CPU, or process health; its role is limited to informing management systems which RADIUS-related object groups and table variations a device supports. It is dependent on CISCO-RADIUS-MIB, the operational module whose feature support it profiles. Such capability statements are used during SNMP agent compliance validation on access servers, VPN concentrators, and similar authentication-facing network devices. Engineers can download the CISCO-RADIUS-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-RADIUS-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco network access devices (RADIUS clients)

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so no monitoring scenario applies; it only documents supported RADIUS MIB features per device/software version.
