What Is CISCO-WAN-CES-CONN-STAT-MIB?
The CISCO-WAN-CES-CONN-STAT-MIB provides per-channel statistics for Circuit Emulation Service (CES) connections on Cisco MGX 8200/8800-series ATM WAN switches equipped with Circuit Emulation Service Modules (CESM). It exposes real-time performance counters such as channel state, transmit/receive ATM state, cell-loss status, reassembled and generated cell counts, header errors, pointer reframes, and lost cells. This is squarely a performance/fault counter MIB used to monitor circuit emulation channel health, where rising lost-cell or header-error counts, or an active cell-loss alarm, directly indicate TDM-over-ATM circuit degradation affecting the voice or data traffic riding that channel. It is specific to the PXM/CESM card architecture of Cisco MGX switches and complements PXM-level ATM statistics MIBs. It is deployed on Cisco MGX 8200/8800-series ATM WAN switches provisioned with CES for TDM circuit emulation. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-CES-CONN-STAT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An engineer polls cesmChanCntGrpTable/cesmChanCntGrpEntry for a channel identified by cesCntChanNum, checking cesChanState and cesXmtATMState/cesRcvATMState to confirm the channel is active. A spike in cesLostCells or cesPointerReframes combined with an active cesCellLossStatus alarm indicates the emulated TDM circuit is experiencing cell loss or clock slips, which would be correlated with jitter or underrun complaints on the emulated leased line.
