Description: Manages Cisco WAN CES port configuration for T1/E1 circuit emulation over ATM on MGX platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-WAN-CES-PORT-MIB?

CISCO-WAN-CES-PORT-MIB is a Cisco Systems proprietary MIB configuring Circuit Emulation Service (CES) ports on Cisco MGX WAN switches, which carry TDM circuits over an ATM backbone. Its port configuration table, keyed by port number, records row status, the underlying line number, port type, DS0 timeslot configuration bitmap, DS0 slot count, structured-clear-channel signaling count per DS0, and port speed. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a CES port's DS0 timeslot allocation and speed match the intended TDM circuit provisioning. It is deployed on Cisco MGX WAN switches with Circuit Emulation Service port cards. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-CES-PORT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-WAN-CES-PORT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco MGX WAN switches with Circuit Emulation Service (CES) port cards

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks cesPortDs0ConfigBitMap and cesPortSpeed for a CES port to confirm the correct DS0 timeslots are allocated before diagnosing a TDM circuit provisioning mismatch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CES port DS0 timeslot configuration and speed
