Description: States agent capability information for the MIB managing Cisco VISM DSX1 (T1/E1) interfaces on MGX platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-VISM-DSX1-CAPABILITY?

This is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module documenting which object groups of CISCO-VISM-DSX1-MIB are implemented by a given software release of the Voice Interworking Service Module (VISM) line card on the Cisco MGX 8000-series wide-area switch platform. It contains no data objects of its own; it only lists which conformance groups (covering DS1/E1 physical-layer configuration and alarm status) from the underlying MIB are supported at a particular agent version. It plays no direct role in monitoring hardware/software status itself, but its companion CISCO-VISM-DSX1-MIB is what would expose T1/E1 line status, alarms, and signal quality for the VISM card. It depends entirely on CISCO-VISM-DSX1-MIB, whose object groups it declares support for. It is used in Cisco MGX 8000-series voice/data multiservice switching platforms where VISM cards provide DS1/E1 voice trunking. Engineers can download the CISCO-VISM-DSX1-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-VISM-DSX1-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco MGX 8000-series with VISM (Voice Interworking Service Module) card

Monitoring Examples

This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement with no data-bearing objects (sample_objects is empty); it declares supported object groups from CISCO-VISM-DSX1-MIB rather than exposing any monitorable value itself.
