Description: Manages Cisco software license entitlements, activation keys, and feature license status on network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-LICENSE-MGMT-MIB?

CISCO-LICENSE-MGMT-MIB is a Cisco Systems Inc. proprietary MIB managing feature licensing keyed to the device's UDI (Universal Device Identifier — product ID, version ID, and serial number). Its objects cover a license-action table (index, entity physical index, transfer protocol, license-server address type/address/username/password, license file/store, license index, permission-ticket/rehost-ticket/backup files, stop-on-failure flag, action, action state, job-queue position, fail cause, storage type, row status), an EULA-accepted flag, and an EULA file. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator install, transfer, or rehost node-locked licenses and track license-action job status on a Cisco device. It is deployed on Cisco Systems network equipment (license management). Engineers can download the CISCO-LICENSE-MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LICENSE-MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Systems network equipment (license management)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks clmgmtLicenseActionState and clmgmtLicenseActionFailCause to diagnose a failed license-install job on a Cisco device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • license-action job status and EULA acceptance
