Category: Cisco Devices, SNA and Legacy Protocols
Description: Manages ITP SCCP subsystem configuration, global title translation, and concerned point code lists.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB?
CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB provides SS7 Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP) message statistics for Cisco's IP Transfer Point (ITP), implementing the measurements specified in ITU-T Q.752. It exposes performance counters for SCCP message types -- total messages, locally-terminated messages, Global Title Translation (GTT) messages, and per-type sent/received counts for UDT, UDTS, XUDT, XUDTS and LUDT message classes. This is a performance/traffic-monitoring MIB used to gauge the software-level health and load of the SCCP signaling stack, revealing abnormal message volumes or elevated segmentation/error-response (the 'S' variants) rates that can indicate signaling congestion or routing faults. It directly implements the ITU-T Q.752 SS7 monitoring and measurement standard. It is deployed on Cisco ITP nodes handling SCCP-layer SS7-over-IP signaling traffic, and operators can download the CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) SS7 signaling routers
Monitoring Examples
An operator trending cItpSccpTotalMsgs and cItpSccpTotalGttMsgs over time can spot traffic spikes or drops in Global Title Translation load; watching cItpSccpUDTSMsgsSent/Rcvd and cItpSccpXUDTSMsgsSent/Rcvd alongside cItpSccpLocalMsgs helps detect delivery failures or message-segmentation problems within the SS7 network.
What Can Be Monitored
- total SCCP messages
- locally terminated messages
- Global Title Translation (GTT) message counts
- UDT/UDTS message counts
- XUDT/XUDTS message counts
- LUDT message counts

| ciscoItpSccpMIB | 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.233 | The MIB for Signaling Connection Control Part(SCCP) messages transported over Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) Network via Cisco IP Transfer Point. This MIB for provides information specified in ITU Q752 Monitoring and Measurements for Signalling System No. 7(SS7) Network. The Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) is a hardware and software solution that transports SS7 traffic using IP. Each ITP node provides function similar to SS7 signaling point. The relevant ITU documents describing this technology is the ITU Q series, including ITU Q.700: Introduction to CCITT Signalling System No. 7 and ITU Q.701 Functional description of the message transfer part (MTP) of Signalling System No. 7. The IETF Working Group Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN) has defined MTP3 User Adaptation (M3UA) and SCCP User Adaptation (SUA) protocols. The drafts can be found at: http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/sigtran-charter.html This MIB consists of the following tables: Concerned Point Code List Table Mated Application (MAP) Table Global Title Translation (GTT) Selector Table Global Title Address (GTA) Table Application Group Table Prefix Conversion Table | ||

To perform the translation a selector (cItpSccpGttSelTable) corresponding to TT, NP, NAI and GTI is used. The selector also specifies prefix conversion of the GTA before (pre) performing the global title translation or after (post) performing the global title translation. A selector can specify any or both (pre and post) prefix conversion tables. The prefix conversion involves matching of GTA digits in the cItpSccpGttPrefInAddr and then replacing those digits with the digits in cItpSccpGttPrefOutAddr. | |
