Description: Declares agent capability for the Cisco ITP SCCP subsystem MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ITP-SCCP-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-ITP-SCCP-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB (covering the SCCP subsystem of Cisco's SS7-over-IP Internetworking Transport Point, or ITP, product) a particular Cisco device or software release actually implements. As a capabilities module it does not define its own runtime data objects; it exists purely to map agent/software versions to supported groups and objects in the referenced SCCP MIB. It therefore has no role in exposing hardware/software status data directly, though the MIB it describes (CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB) would carry SCCP layer status and statistics for SS7 signaling. Its dependency is explicit: it is entirely defined in terms of, and only meaningful alongside, CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB. It is used internally by NMS tooling to determine SNMP feature support on Cisco ITP (signaling gateway) platforms carrying SS7 traffic over IP. Engineers can download the CISCO-ITP-SCCP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-SCCP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco ITP (SS7 signaling gateway) platform

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module with no runtime data objects of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only declares which SCCP-related objects the referenced CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB implementation supports.
