Description: Manages ITP SS7 route table entries for destination point code routing decisions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ITP-RT-MIB?

The CISCO-ITP-RT-MIB is a Cisco-specific module for managing SS7 (Signalling System No. 7) route tables on Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) nodes, which transport telecom signaling traffic over IP networks. It exposes configuration and state data for destination point code routes, including route table entries, configuration load status, and state-change counters used to track routing table changes. Administrators use it to monitor the operational health of SS7 signaling routes, tracking configuration load success or failure, counting route state transitions, and receiving notifications when routes change state, which helps detect signaling path faults or misconfigurations before they disrupt telephony traffic. This MIB builds on ITU-T Q-series SS7 standards, particularly Q.700/Q.701, and is specific to the Cisco ITP platform rather than a generic IETF MIB. It is typically deployed in telecom carrier networks where Cisco ITP nodes act as SS7 signaling points bridging traditional TDM-based SS7 networks with IP transport. Engineers can download the CISCO-ITP-RT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-RT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) SS7 signaling gateway

Monitoring Examples

An administrator polls cItpRouteTable/cItpRouteTableEntry to see configured routes by cItpRouteTableName and cross-references cItpRtStateChangeCount to detect unexpected route flapping. Watching cItpRtConfigLoadStatus after a configuration push confirms whether the new routing configuration loaded successfully, while cItpRtConfigLastChanged timestamps the last edit for change-tracking. If cItpRtMaxDynamicRoutes is being approached, the operator knows the ITP node is nearing its dynamic route capacity, a leading indicator of route-table exhaustion.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SS7 route table entries
  • route configuration load status
  • route state change count
  • state-change notifications
  • dynamic route capacity
  • configuration change timestamp
