Description: Declares agent capability for the Cisco ITP SS7 route table MIB.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-ITP-RT-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-ITP-RT-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that documents which portions of the CISCO-ITP-RT-MIB (SS7 Internet Transfer Point route table MIB) are implemented on a specific Cisco platform. It sits in the telecom signaling area, specifically SS7-over-IP internetworking used by Cisco ITP (Internetworking Transfer Point) gateways. Rather than exposing operational data, it acts as a compatibility declaration so management stations know which SS7 route table objects, groups, and traps are actually supported before polling. It does not itself report uptime, CPU, or environmental status, but it enables correct monitoring of the underlying SS7 routing MIB on the device. Such capability statements are used in carrier signaling networks where Cisco ITP routers interconnect SS7 and IP-based telephony infrastructure. Engineers can download the CISCO-ITP-RT-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ITP-RT-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Internetworking Transfer Point (ITP) SS7 gateway router
Monitoring Examples
A signaling network management system consults this capabilities module to verify that a Cisco ITP router's software supports the full ITP route table (point code routing entries) before it begins polling SS7 route status and generating alarms on route unavailability. This avoids false negatives from probing unimplemented objects on older ITP software loads.
What Can Be Monitored
- supported SS7 route table object groups
- supported notification groups
- implementation conformance per software release
