Category: Cisco Devices, Hardware and Environment

Description: Provides management objects for Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) neighbor information and configuration on Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-LLDP-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-LLDP-MIB exposes Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) neighbor information acquired on Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnect ports, showing which directly connected devices have been discovered. It provides a table of acquired LLDP neighbor entries including chassis and port MAC addresses and acquisition timestamps. The MIB is used to monitor the physical/software link-discovery status of the fabric, helping administrators confirm expected topology (e.g., correct upstream switch connections) and detect unexpected or missing neighbor discoveries that could indicate a cabling or link problem. It is built on the IEEE 802.1AB LLDP standard, adapted into the Cisco UCS/Firepower management information model with its DN/RN addressing. It is deployed on Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects for topology verification and cabling audits. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-LLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-LLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprLldpAcquiredTable, reading cfprLldpAcquiredChassisMac and cfprLldpAcquiredPortMac alongside cfprLldpAcquiredPeerDn and cfprLldpAcquiredAcqts to confirm which neighbor device and port each fabric interconnect port is connected to and when that was last acquired. A port with no corresponding LLDP acquisition, or one showing an unexpected peer chassis MAC, would flag a cabling mistake or unauthorized device connection.

What Can Be Monitored

  • discovered neighbor chassis MAC
  • discovered neighbor port MAC
  • peer device identifier
  • acquisition timestamp
