What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-FAULT-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-FAULT-MIB is a Cisco enterprise MIB that models the fault-management information from the Cisco Firepower/UCS management information model, exposing active faults, their severity, and lifecycle state across managed objects. It provides tables identifying which managed-object classes are affected by a fault (cfprFaultAffectedClassTable) and a fault holder table (cfprFaultHolderTable) that tracks individual fault instances by distinguished name (Dn), relative name (Rn), and instance ID. This is explicitly a faults/status monitoring MIB: it is the mechanism by which hardware and software problems anywhere in the Firepower/UCS chassis (blades, fabric interconnects, services modules) surface as structured, severity-ranked fault records rather than raw traps, letting an administrator triage the health of the whole managed domain. It is modeled on and dependent on the broader Cisco UCS/Firepower management information model (the same fault framework used across Cisco UCS Manager), tying its object naming and semantics to that model. It is deployed on Cisco Firepower security appliances and UCS-based chassis in data center and security operations environments. Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprFaultHolderTable to enumerate all currently active faults across the chassis, using cfprFaultHolderDn and cfprFaultHolderName to identify exactly which managed object (e.g., a specific blade, power supply, or service module) is affected. Cross-referencing cfprFaultAffectedClassTable via cfprFaultAffectedClassMoClassId lets the admin determine which class of hardware or software component the fault belongs to, for example distinguishing a fabric interconnect hardware fault from a software/policy fault, and prioritizing response by fault severity.
