Description: Provides management objects for DHCP client and server configuration on Cisco UCS/Firepower management plane network interfaces.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-DHCP-MIB?
CISCO-FIREPOWER-DHCP-MIB is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower chassis management information model, covering the DHCP package used for the management-plane network interfaces of the chassis (e.g. CIMC/management ports acquiring addresses via DHCP). It exposes objects describing acquired DHCP leases, including the assigned IP and MAC address, lease acquisition and expiration timestamps, and an internal lease cookie/system ID, plus instance tables for DHCP configuration. Its monitoring value centers on software/configuration status of the management network: administrators can confirm a chassis component actually obtained a valid DHCP lease and see when that lease expires, which is important for catching management connectivity loss due to lease expiry or DHCP server unavailability. It is part of the same DN/RN-addressed object model shared across the CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB family. It is deployed on Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Firepower 9300 chassis whose management interfaces rely on DHCP. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-DHCP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-DHCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect
- Cisco Firepower 9300 chassis
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll cfprDhcpAcquiredTable/cfprDhcpAcquiredEntry, keyed by cfprDhcpAcquiredInstanceId, checking cfprDhcpAcquiredIp and cfprDhcpAcquiredMac against expected values and comparing cfprDhcpAcquiredAcqts to cfprDhcpAcquiredEnds to see how soon the current lease will expire. If cfprDhcpAcquiredEnds is imminent and no renewal has occurred, this signals a DHCP server reachability problem that could cause the chassis management interface to lose its address. cfprDhcpAcquiredSysId and cfprDhcpAcquiredCookie help correlate the lease record to the specific chassis component that requested it.
What Can Be Monitored
- acquired DHCP IP address
- acquired DHCP MAC address
- lease acquisition timestamp
- lease expiration timestamp
- DHCP lease/system identifiers
