Description: Provides management objects for configuration export, import, and backup operations on Cisco UCS/Firepower management platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-CONFIG-MIB?
CISCO-FIREPOWER-CONFIG-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS/Firepower management-information-model family of MIBs, mapping the platform's internal configuration-management objects (identified by managed-object Dn/Rn distinguished names) into SNMP for external monitoring. It focuses specifically on configuration change impact analysis: which objects and servers are affected by a pending configuration change, what the change consists of, and whether any configuration issues or qualifiers block deployment. This is a software-status MIB in the sense that it reports the state of configuration deployments and flags problematic or blocked changes before they are committed to hardware, helping avoid mis-configuration outages. As with other CISCO-FIREPOWER-* MIBs, it is part of a larger model-based MIB suite that shares common Dn/Rn/InstanceId conventions across sibling MIBs rather than depending on an external IETF standard. It is deployed on Cisco UCS Manager / Firepower management platforms where administrators push service-profile and policy changes to blades, fabric interconnects, and adapters. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-CONFIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-CONFIG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco UCS Manager / Firepower chassis management platforms
Monitoring Examples
Polling cfprConfigImpactTable/cfprConfigImpactEntry lets an admin see cfprConfigImpactAffectedServer and cfprConfigImpactAffectedObj for a pending change, along with cfprConfigImpactConfigIssues and cfprConfigImpactConfigState, revealing whether a change is stuck due to a validation problem before it reaches production hardware. cfprConfigImpactDeploymentMode shows whether the change is being applied immediately or deferred to a maintenance window.
What Can Be Monitored
- configuration impact state
- affected servers/objects
- configuration issues/qualifiers
- deployment mode
- pending change details
