Description: Defines SNMP agent capability statements for Cisco 802.11 Context Services MIB on wireless infrastructure platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-DOT11-CONTEXT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY?

This is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that documents which parts of the companion CISCO-DOT11-CONTEXT-SERVICES-MIB a given Cisco wireless (802.11) platform actually implements. It belongs to Cisco's wireless LAN infrastructure product line (wireless controllers and access points) and does not itself define or expose any object identifiers with live data. Rather than surfacing hardware or software telemetry, it serves purely as a conformance/compatibility declaration used by management tools to know which optional groups of the referenced MIB are supported on a specific agent version. Because of this, it has no direct role in monitoring uptime, temperature, CPU, memory, or any device counters -- its dependency is entirely on the CISCO-DOT11-CONTEXT-SERVICES-MIB it describes. It would be consulted by NMS tooling during MIB compatibility checks rather than during day-to-day polling of a wireless controller. Engineers can download the CISCO-DOT11-CONTEXT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DOT11-CONTEXT-SERVICES-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC)

Monitoring Examples

This module has no sample runtime objects and defines no tables or scalars of its own -- it is a capabilities statement that maps supported object groups to an agent's software release. There is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe honestly, as it carries no pollable data.
