Category: Cisco Devices, Device Management
Description: Monitors Cisco DNA Center network automation platform, tracking device onboarding, assurance metrics, and policy deployment status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-DNAC-MIB?
This MIB supports Cisco DNA Center (DNAC), Cisco's network automation and assurance controller appliance, providing SNMP notifications about the health of the DNAC platform itself and the external services it depends on. It exposes an alarm table (cDnacAlarmsTable) recording sub-system state changes, including identity, event ID, name, description, tags, timestamp, and domain of each alarm. It is explicitly designed for monitoring hardware and software status of the DNAC appliance and its dependent services, examples cited include memory module failures and status changes in dependent subsystems like ISE, IPAM, CMX, and ITSM integrations, making it a fault/notification-oriented MIB rather than one exposing continuous performance counters. The module description explicitly notes dependency on external services (ISE, IPAM, CMX, ITSM) that DNAC relies upon, modeled as domains within the alarm table. It is deployed wherever a Cisco DNA Center appliance manages and monitors an enterprise Cisco network. Engineers can download the CISCO-DNAC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DNAC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco DNA Center appliance
- Cisco network automation/assurance controller
Monitoring Examples
A monitoring system would subscribe to notifications tied to cDnacAlarmsTable entries and inspect cDnacDomain, cDnacName, and cDnacDescription to identify which subsystem (e.g., a memory module or an ISE integration) changed state. cDnacEventID and cDnacTimestamp let an operator correlate an alarm with the exact time of occurrence, while cDnacInstanceID identifies which DNAC node/cluster member raised the alert. cDnacAlarmsMax indicates the alarm table's capacity, useful for detecting when older alarms may be aged out under high alarm volume.
What Can Be Monitored
- subsystem state-change alarms
- alarm domain (e.g. ISE, IPAM, CMX, ITSM)
- alarm timestamp
- DNAC node/instance identity
- alarm table capacity

RFC description
Cisco DNA Center appliance notifications MIB providing trap definitions for hardware, software, and external service status events. Reports state changes for subsystems like memory modules and dependent services (ISE, IPAM, CMX, ITSM).
