Description: Manages the Digital Program Map (DPM) and service selection on the Cisco DMN D9800 satellite receiver.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-DMN-DSG-DPM-MIB?

CISCO-DMN-DSG-DPM-MIB is a Cisco proprietary MIB for Digital Program Map (DPM) service mapping on the D9800 satellite gateway, controlling how services are mapped into output PSI/SI tables, part of the DMN DSG MIB family. It exposes configuration data per DPM instance: map mode, duplicate-service-ID handling method, map regeneration rate, and how unreferenced content is handled, plus a trigger object to force map regeneration. Its monitoring value is software/service-mapping status: the regeneration rate and unreferenced-content setting reveal whether stale or broken program mappings are being properly cleaned up, which is important for downstream set-top boxes relying on accurate program maps. It relates conceptually to DVB/MPEG PSI/SI signaling standards (PAT/PMT), though implemented as a self-contained Cisco proprietary MIB. It is deployed on D9800 satellite gateways in broadcast headends producing multiplexed program streams. Engineers can download the CISCO-DMN-DSG-DPM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DMN-DSG-DPM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco DMN D9800 digital satellite gateway

Monitoring Examples

dpmGblCfgTable/dpmGblCfgEntry, indexed by dpmGblCfgInstanceID, exposes dpmGblCfgMapMode and dpmGblCfgRegenRate, letting an operator confirm how frequently program maps regenerate. dpmGblCfgUnrefContent reveals whether unreferenced streams are dropped or passed through, and an operator could invoke dpmRegenerate to force-recover from a stale PSI table after a source change, then verify the update via dpmInfo/dpmTable.

What Can Be Monitored

  • program map mode configuration
  • map regeneration rate
  • unreferenced content handling
  • PSI/service ID output settings
