Description: Manages ATM access control lists for filtering VCC traffic on Cisco ATM interfaces.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-ATM-ACCESS-LIST-MIB?

CISCO-ATM-ACCESS-LIST-MIB is a Cisco-specific MIB for managing ATM access control lists used to filter Virtual Channel Connection (VCC) traffic on Cisco ATM interfaces, providing address templates, address aliases, and filter sets with time-based (start hour) filtering criteria. It exposes configuration objects such as address template tables (mapping template names to ATM address patterns) and address filter set tables (grouping filter entries with type, template reference, and scheduling), used to control which ATM addresses/VCCs are permitted or denied on an interface. As an access-control/security configuration MIB, its monitoring value lies in confirming the correct ACL/filter configuration is applied and active on ATM interfaces rather than in reporting hardware health or performance counters. It builds on Cisco's broader ATM interface MIB family, relying on ATM interface identification conventions similar to standard ATM-MIB concepts, for the interfaces to which these access lists are applied. It is deployed on Cisco routers and switches with ATM interfaces in enterprise or carrier networks that require ATM VCC-level traffic filtering/security policy. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-ATM-ACCESS-LIST-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-ATM-ACCESS-LIST-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco routers/switches with ATM interfaces (e.g. Cisco 7500 series routers, LightStream 1010 ATM switch)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll ciscoAtmAddressTemplateTable/ciscoAtmAddressTemplateEntry to confirm atmAddressTemplate patterns are correctly defined under a given atmAddressAliasName, and check atmAddressTemplateRowStatus to ensure the template is active rather than left in a notInService state. The ciscoAtmAddressFilterSetTable would be checked (via atmAddressFilterSetName, atmAddressFilterSetType, and atmAddressFilterSetTemplate) to verify a filter set correctly references its intended template and time window (atmAddressFilterSetStartHour). A filter set entry left in an inactive row status, or referencing the wrong template, would mean the intended ATM access control policy is not actually being enforced on that interface.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ATM address template configuration
  • address filter set configuration
  • filter row status (active/inactive)
  • time-based filter scheduling
  • ATM address alias mapping
