What Is CIE1000-SYSUTIL-MIB?

CIE1000-SYSUTIL-MIB is a Cisco-private system-utility MIB for the Cisco IE1000 industrial Ethernet switch family, covering general device identity, capability, and health information. It exposes system information (hostname, contact, location), system time, platform capability flags (warm reboot, POST, ZTP, stack firmware check support), and a temperature-monitoring table keyed by sensor ID. Its central monitoring use is hardware/software status tracking: it lets an admin confirm the device's identity and clock, check whether power-on self-test and zero-touch provisioning are supported, and—most importantly—poll per-sensor temperature readings to catch overheating before it causes a fault in industrial/harsh environments. It is a Cisco-private module that complements the standard SNMPv2-MIB system group (sysName, sysContact) rather than duplicating it, and works alongside CIE1000-PORT-MIB and CIE1000-SYSLOG-MIB in the same product's MIB suite.
