Description: Manages IP multicast address profiles used for IGMP/MLD snooping filtering on Cisco IE1000 industrial switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CIE1000-IPMC-PROFILE-MIB?
CIE1000-IPMC-PROFILE-MIB is a Cisco private MIB for managing IP multicast profiles used to filter IGMP/MLD snooping traffic on IE1000 industrial Ethernet switches. It exposes a global admin-state scalar plus tables defining named profiles and the IPv4 multicast address ranges each profile permits. The data is mostly configuration rather than live counters, so its monitoring value is chiefly in confirming the feature is enabled and that provisioned profiles match intended multicast policy, rather than reporting hardware faults. It relates conceptually to standard IGMP/MLD snooping filtering mechanisms. It is used in industrial networks to control multicast broadcast traffic (e.g. plant automation protocols) so it stays confined to authorized ranges. Engineers can download the CIE1000-IPMC-PROFILE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CIE1000-IPMC-PROFILE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco IE1000 industrial Ethernet switches
Monitoring Examples
cie1000IpmcProfileConfigMgmtTable lists defined profiles via cie1000IpmcProfileConfigMgmtProfileName and ProfileDescription, and cie1000IpmcProfileConfigIpv4AddrRangeTable shows the specific multicast address ranges (cie1000IpmcProfileConfigIpv4AddrRangeRangeName) each profile covers. An admin can confirm cie1000IpmcProfileConfigGlobalsAdminState is enabled and cross-check a profile's address range against the expected multicast application to diagnose unexpected multicast flooding or over-restrictive filtering.
What Can Be Monitored
- IPMC profile admin state
- defined multicast profiles and descriptions
- permitted IPv4 multicast address ranges
- profile configuration actions
