Module: CHECKPOINT-MIB-2

OID (symbolic): CHECKPOINT-MIB-2::ifOutQLen

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.21

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-only

Description: The length of the output packet queue (in packets).

What is ifOutQLen?

Reports the current length, in packets, of the interface's outbound transmit queue. A queue that's persistently near its configured maximum indicates the interface can't drain packets as fast as they're being handed to it, a sign of an oversubscribed uplink or a downstream bottleneck rather than a firewall policy problem. Example: ifOutQLen sitting near its ceiling during a backup window points to that link being saturated, explaining the latency spikes users report during the same window.
