Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CGX-EVENTS-MIB?

CGX-EVENTS-MIB defines SNMP notification (trap) and supporting event objects for CloudGenix (CGX) SD-WAN gateway/appliance equipment, used for fault and event management across a CloudGenix SD-WAN fabric. It exposes objects identifying the site, network element, WAN interface, VPN link, and BGP/route-peer context associated with a given event, feeding into event notifications and event object statistics. Its monitoring focus is fault/event-driven rather than periodic polling: it lets administrators correlate an alarm to a specific site, element, WAN interface, or VPN link, and track route-peer state changes (peer up/down) which reveal SD-WAN overlay or underlay connectivity problems. Being an events/notification MIB, it depends on the identifying object conventions (site, element, interface naming) defined elsewhere in the broader CloudGenix MIB set. It is deployed in CloudGenix (now Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN) branch and data-center SD-WAN appliance deployments. Engineers can download the CGX-EVENTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CGX-EVENTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • CloudGenix (Prisma SD-WAN) appliance/gateway

Monitoring Examples

When a CGX event notification fires, an administrator would use cgxSiteId/cgxSiteName and cgxElementId to identify which branch site and appliance generated it, and cgxSiteWanInterfaceId/cgxSiteWanInterfaceName to pinpoint the specific WAN circuit involved. cgxRoutePeerId, cgxRoutePeerName, and cgxRoutePeerType would be checked when the event concerns a routing peer going down, and cgxVpnLinkId identifies the affected SD-WAN VPN overlay link. cgxEventsObjectStats gives aggregate counts of events by type, useful for spotting a site generating an abnormal volume of alarms.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SD-WAN site and element identification
  • WAN interface/circuit identification
  • VPN overlay link status
  • route/BGP peer status
  • event/notification counts by type
