What Is CENTILLION-LESBUS-MIB?

CENTILLION-LESBUS-MIB manages the ATM LAN Emulation Server (LES) and Broadcast/Unknown Server (BUS) functions on Nortel Centillion switches, which are core components of classical LAN emulation (LANE) over ATM. It exposes objects describing configured LES/BUS instances, their server IDs and ATM addresses, and peer relationships between LES/BUS servers in a LANE fabric. This is primarily configuration and connectivity-state monitoring: administrators use it to verify that a LES/BUS server is correctly bound to its expected ATM address and that peer server relationships are established, which is essential to diagnosing LANE clients that cannot join an emulated LAN. It depends conceptually on the ATM Forum LANE specification and works alongside other Centillion MIBs such as CENTILLION-VLAN-MIB and CENTILLION-ATMMON-MIB. An operator would query cnLesBusTable/cnLesBusEntry, keyed by cnLesBusConfIndex, to check cnLesBusBusAddrActual against cnLesBusBusAddrSpec and confirm the BUS server is bound to its configured ATM address. cnLesBusPeerTable, keyed by cnLesBusIndex and cnLesBusPeerIndex, would be checked to verify expected LES/BUS peer relationships are present, since a missing peer entry typically explains why LANE clients on a remote switch cannot reach the emulated LAN. cnLesBusSmartLes indicates whether the 'smart LES' optimization is enabled for that server instance.
