All MIBs › CENTILLION-IF-EXTENSIONS-MIB
Category: ATM, Vendor: Nortel
Description: Provides additional interface management objects extending the standard IF-MIB for Nortel Centillion switch ports.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CENTILLION-IF-EXTENSIONS-MIB?
CENTILLION-IF-EXTENSIONS-MIB is a legacy Bay Networks/Centillion (built on CENTILLION-ROOT-MIB) proprietary MIB extending the standard interface table for Centillion ATM/LAN switches. Its extension table, keyed by index, records card/port number, NetBIOS-name-filtering enable/download state, NetBIOS broadcast-discard flag, NetBIOS name-proxy state, forwarding identifier, in/out no-resources counts, VLAN mismatch count, VLAN capabilities, local admin address, default physical address, VLAN-trunk flag, and user in/out discard counts. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm NetBIOS-filtering and VLAN-trunk settings and watch discard counts per interface on a legacy Bay Networks Centillion switch. It is deployed on legacy Bay Networks Centillion ATM/LAN switching equipment. Engineers can download the CENTILLION-IF-EXTENSIONS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CENTILLION-IF-EXTENSIONS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Legacy Bay Networks Centillion ATM/LAN switching equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks cnIfVlanMismatch and cnIfUsrOutDiscards to diagnose a VLAN-trunk misconfiguration on a legacy Bay Networks Centillion switch port.
What Can Be Monitored
- NetBIOS-filtering/VLAN-trunk configuration and interface discard counts
