Description: Manages Motorola Canopy (now Cambium Networks) wireless broadband point-to-multipoint system configuration and link performance.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CANOPY-SYS-MIB?
CANOPY-SYS-MIB is a vendor MIB for the Motorola Canopy (now Cambium Networks) fixed wireless broadband system, used to manage point-to-multipoint (PMP) wireless access networks connecting an access point to multiple subscriber module radios. It covers general system-level management of a Canopy unit, encompassing device identity, radio/RF configuration, and general operational parameters for the access point or subscriber module. In practice it is used to monitor the hardware and software status of the wireless unit: system uptime, unit temperature (Canopy radios are known to expose an internal temperature sensor), software/firmware version, and radio link/session state between AP and SM. It commonly complements other Canopy-family MIBs (e.g., a separate radio or scheduler MIB) and standard MIB-II system/interface objects for baseline device management. It is deployed at wireless ISP or enterprise access-point and subscriber-module sites providing last-mile broadband connectivity. Engineers can download the CANOPY-SYS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CANOPY-SYS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Motorola/Cambium Canopy wireless broadband AP or subscriber module
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so specific leaf-object names can't be confirmed; typically an operator polling a Canopy CANOPY-SYS-MIB agent would check the unit's temperature and uptime objects to catch overheating or unexpected reboots at an outdoor AP or SM site, and compare firmware-version objects across a deployment to find units needing an upgrade. This description is necessarily generic given the empty sample-object list for this module.
What Can Be Monitored
- unit uptime
- unit temperature
- software/firmware version
- radio link/session status
- system configuration parameters
