Description: Manages operational parameter configuration for Alvarion BreezeACCESS base station unit (BSU) radios.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is BSUPARAM-MIB?
BSUPARAM-MIB is part of Alvarion's BreezeACCESS family of MIBs for fixed wireless broadband access, covering configurable operational parameters of the Base Station Unit (BSU) radio. Per its module description it groups other configurable BSU parameters, with the available sample showing a DHCP parameter source setting. It is used mainly to monitor the software/configuration state of the BSU — for example whether the unit obtains its management IP configuration via DHCP or static assignment — rather than physical hardware health directly, though a misapplied parameter here can affect the unit's reachability. It is designed to work alongside companion Alvarion MIBs BSUSTATS-MIB (statistics) and BSUVLAN-MIB (VLAN configuration) as part of the same BSU management suite. It is deployed on BreezeACCESS base stations providing last-mile fixed wireless broadband access for telecom and wireless ISP operators. Engineers can download the BSUPARAM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BSUPARAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Aperto Networks PacketWave/PacketMAX wireless broadband Base Station Unit (BSU)
Monitoring Examples
With only aniBsuDhcpParamSource available in the provided data, an administrator's realistic scenario would be polling this object to verify whether the BSU is set to obtain its network configuration via DHCP versus static assignment, which is a useful first check when a base station becomes unreachable after a configuration change. Broader BSU parameter objects referenced in the module description were not included in the sample data, so further specifics can't be honestly stated.
What Can Be Monitored
- DHCP vs. static IP configuration source
