Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is BRCM-80211-MGMT-MIB?

BRCM-80211-MGMT-MIB is a Broadcom Corporation proprietary MIB for runtime management and configuration of the Wi-Fi (802.11) network interface on Broadcom-chipset devices. Its objects cover operating mode, SSID, current channel, beacon/DTIM interval, fragmentation/RTS threshold, short/long retry limit, 802.11g network mode and protection enable, data rate, output power, MBSS user-control, encryption mode, WEP passphrase/default key, and 64-bit/128-bit WEP key tables. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm SSID, channel, and encryption settings on a Broadcom-chipset Wi-Fi device. It is deployed on Broadcom-chipset devices with 802.11 (Wi-Fi) interfaces (e.g., cable gateways). Engineers can download the BRCM-80211-MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BRCM-80211-MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Broadcom-chipset devices with 802.11 (Wi-Fi) interfaces

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks dot11SSID and dot11EncryptionMode to confirm Wi-Fi network name and security configuration on a Broadcom-chipset gateway device.
