What Is AVAYA-SURV-MIB?
AVAYA-SURV-MIB is an Avaya (R4.1 Standard Local Survivability, built on AVAYAGEN-MIB) proprietary MIB configuring gateway Survivability mode — a fallback call-feature set used when a gateway loses H.248 communication with its main call controller. Its objects cover admin state, status, max IP registrations, date format, end-date/time stamp, notification severity, a config-command action, gateway number, PIN-lockout, attendant access code/extension, and a station table (index, extension, type, interface index, class of restriction, trunk destination, row status, expansion module). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm survivability-mode readiness and station provisioning on an Avaya gateway. It is deployed on Avaya gateway equipment (Local Survivability). Engineers can download the AVAYA-SURV-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

When the gateway is in survivabilty mode of operation, it will continue to register to H.248 controller IP addresses in the MGC list. If a re-registration to the H.248 controller can be made, the survivability mode will be disabled and any new calls will be managed by the MGC. Active calls between two local IP phones will be maintained because they are established as shuffled calls.
