Category: MPLS and Traffic Engineering, Vendor: Avaya

Description: Monitors Avaya Service Assurance Agent tracking probes for measuring end-to-end IP service quality metrics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AVAYA-SAA-TRACK-MIB?

AVAYA-SAA-TRACK-MIB configures Service Assurance Agent (SAA) probes and Object Tracking functionality on Avaya converged gateways, a capability analogous to Cisco IP SLA. It exposes probe configuration objects (targets, probe types, thresholds) and expected results such as round-trip time, jitter, and packet loss, plus object-tracking state used to trigger failover decisions. Its monitoring focus is network service quality and reachability rather than device hardware, though probe results also indirectly confirm the gateway itself is up and forwarding traffic correctly. It is conceptually similar to and often deployed alongside Cisco's RTTMON/IP SLA-style MIBs for end-to-end service assurance. It is deployed on Avaya converged voice/data gateways, where operators rely on AVAYA-SAA-TRACK-MIB SNMP monitoring to track WAN or VoIP path quality and drive automatic failover.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AVAYA-SAA-TRACK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Avaya converged gateways

Monitoring Examples

No sample_objects were provided for this module, so specific table or object names cannot be cited. In a typical deployment an administrator would poll probe result objects for round-trip time, jitter, and packet loss and check tracked-object state to detect a degraded VoIP path or trigger a route failover, but the exact OIDs are not present in the available data.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SAA probe status
  • round-trip time
  • jitter
  • packet loss
  • tracked object state
