Category: Vendor: AT&T
Description: Manages AT&T NetGate network access equipment, covering port configuration, traffic statistics, and alarm notifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ATT-NETGATE-MIB?
This is an AT&T enterprise MIB for the NetGate, an AT&T network access/gateway device, covering port configuration, traffic statistics, and alarm notifications. Its exposed objects include hardware and code version identifiers (nghwHardwareVersion, nghwCodeVersion), account and time-zone/DST configuration (nghwAccount, nghwUtcOffset, nghwDstAllowed, nghwDstActive), WAN connection method and hostname, and a DNS server table (ngDnsTable/ngDnsEntry). It is used to monitor both hardware and software status of the gateway—hardware and firmware/code version for confirming the unit is running expected revisions, WAN connection method for confirming the access circuit type, and DST/timezone state alongside DNS configuration for diagnosing time-sync or name-resolution issues. Being an AT&T enterprise-specific MIB, it stands largely independent of IETF standard MIBs, though it likely coexists with standard IF-MIB and SNMPv2-MIB system objects for basic interface and system identity. It is deployed on AT&T NetGate customer-premises access/gateway equipment used to connect sites to AT&T's network access services. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the ATT-NETGATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATT-NETGATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- AT&T NetGate network access/gateway devices
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll nghwHardwareVersion and nghwCodeVersion to confirm the unit's firmware revision, and check nghwWanConnectionMethod and nghwHostname to validate provisioning. Querying ngDnsTable/ngDnsEntry via ngdnIndex reveals configured DNS servers, and a lookup returning an unreachable or stale entry would explain name-resolution failures at the site; nghwDstActive vs nghwDstAllowed would reveal a daylight-saving-time misconfiguration affecting logged timestamps.
What Can Be Monitored
- hardware and code/firmware version
- WAN connection method
- DNS server configuration
- daylight-saving-time / UTC offset status
- account configuration
