Category: Vendor: AT&T

Description: Manages AT&T Customer Network Management objects for DS3/T3 circuits, providing performance parameters and line alarms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ATT-CNM-DS3-MIB?

ATT-CNM-DS3-MIB is an AT&T Customer Network Management MIB providing customer-facing visibility into DS3/T3 digital circuit performance and alarm status, historically used to let subscribers monitor their leased-line circuits. It exposes performance parameter data and line alarm indicators specific to the DS3 transmission standard, giving customers insight into circuit-level faults without needing access to carrier-internal systems. Its monitoring role is centered on fault/alarm status of the physical transmission circuit - detecting line alarms, framing errors, or performance threshold crossings that indicate a degrading or failed DS3 line, rather than device hardware sensors in the traditional sense. It depends on and extends concepts from the standard DS3/E3 MIB (RFC 1407) adapted for AT&T's customer network management (CNM) service interface. It was deployed in AT&T's managed DS3 leased-line service offerings for customer-visible circuit monitoring. Engineers can download the ATT-CNM-DS3-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATT-CNM-DS3-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AT&T-provisioned DS3/T3 leased-line circuit equipment

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this MIB, so specific object/table names cannot be cited; based on its stated purpose, a customer network management workstation would typically poll DS3 line alarm status and performance parameter counters (e.g., errored seconds, alarm indication signal state) analogous to those in the standard DS3/E3 MIB to detect a degraded or failed leased DS3 circuit.
