What Is ATT-VPN-GATEWAY-MIB?
ATT-VPN-GATEWAY-MIB is AT&T's enterprise MIB for its managed VPN Gateway customer-premises equipment, used to remotely manage and monitor small-business/branch VPN gateway devices as part of an AT&T managed-service offering. It exposes hardware and firmware identity (hardware version, code/firmware version), account and time-zone/DST configuration, WAN connection method and hostname, and a DNS server table, alongside tunnel/authentication and throughput data per the module's broader scope. It supports monitoring both software status - code/firmware version, DST/timezone configuration, WAN connection method - and basic device hardware version identity, which AT&T's back-end systems use to verify the gateway is running expected firmware and is correctly provisioned. It is a self-contained enterprise MIB but is used alongside standard host/interface MIBs by the managed-service monitoring platform for full device visibility. It is typically deployed on AT&T-managed VPN gateway appliances installed at customer branch/small-business sites and polled by AT&T's remote management infrastructure, with technicians performing an ATT-VPN-GATEWAY-MIB download to load the module into their SNMP management platform.

Monitoring Examples
A management system would poll nghwHardwareVersion and nghwCodeVersion to confirm the gateway is on approved hardware/firmware, and check nghwWanConnectionMethod and nghwHostname to verify WAN provisioning. Walking ngDnsTable/ngDnsEntry via ngdnIndex reveals which DNS servers are configured on the gateway. A mismatch between nghwCodeVersion and the expected fleet-wide firmware version would flag a device needing a firmware upgrade, while an unexpected nghwDstActive value could explain time-stamping discrepancies in logs.
