Category: Device Management, Vendor: Allied Telesis

Description: Manages boot loader configuration, firmware image selection, and startup parameter settings on Allied Telesis devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-LOADER-MIB?

AT-LOADER-MIB manages boot loader configuration, firmware image selection, and startup parameters on Allied Telesis devices. It exposes a load table describing the source server, filename, destination, and scheduling delay for a firmware image, plus a load status object. Its monitoring emphasis is on software status during the boot/upgrade process: loadStatus tracks whether a firmware download and boot sequence succeeded, is in progress, or failed, which is critical for confirming a device actually came up on the intended image. It works alongside AT-INSTALL-MIB, which tracks the installed release/patch versions once loading completes. It is used on Allied Telesis network equipment during network-boot or TFTP/FTP-based firmware loading operations. Engineers can download the AT-LOADER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-LOADER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis network equipment (boot loader/firmware-load stage)

Monitoring Examples

loadTable/loadEntry, indexed by loadIndex, exposes loadServer, loadDestination, loadFilename, loadDelay, and loadStatus. An administrator configures loadServer and loadFilename to point at a TFTP or FTP image source, then polls loadStatus to confirm the device successfully downloaded and applied the new boot image rather than stalling or failing partway through the transfer.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured load server address
  • target filename/destination
  • load delay/schedule
  • load/boot status (success, in-progress, failure)
