Description: Manages flash file system operations including file listing, transfer, and deletion on Allied Telesis network devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AT-FILE-MIB?
This is an Allied Telesis private MIB providing access to the device's flash/onboard file system, letting administrators list, transfer, and delete files such as firmware images and configuration backups. It exposes a file table capturing file name, storage device, creation time, status, and size for each stored file, essentially file-system inventory and status data rather than traffic counters. This directly supports monitoring software status on the device: administrators can confirm the correct firmware image or configuration file is present, check fileStatus to detect corrupted or incomplete files, and watch fileSize/fileNumbers to catch storage exhaustion before it prevents an upgrade or reboot. It's a self-contained vendor MIB with no notable dependency on external standard MIBs beyond generic SNMPv2-SMI conventions. It is typically deployed on Allied Telesis switches and routers for remote firmware/config file management and storage-health monitoring, and the AT-FILE-MIB download is available for administrators to load into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-FILE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Allied Telesis switch/router
Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls fileTable / fileEntry, using fileIndex to look up fileName, fileDevice, fileSize, and fileStatus for each stored file, confirming a newly uploaded firmware image is complete and marked valid before triggering a reboot. A file with an error fileStatus or fileNumbers approaching the device's storage limit would indicate a failed transfer or an at-capacity flash file system.
What Can Be Monitored
- stored file name and size
- file storage device
- file creation time
- file status (valid/corrupt)
- total file count
